Roofing FAQ
Q..If I suspect I have storm damage, what do I do?
A..Only a professional can provide you with a detailed assessment. Many people prefer to call the contractor first, before the insurance company is involved. Capital Contracting offers a free evaluation and inspection. If we determine there is damage, we will work with you’re insurance company to have it corrected.
Q..Will a storm damage claim affect my policy or increase my rates?
A..No. Storms are considered an "a no fault claim" and do not effect your rate. A storm can affect everyone in the area. Rates may increase as a whole but not individually just because you filed a claim whether your damage is fixed or not
Q..How do I know if a roof repair qualifies as an insurance claim?
A..Only a professional can provide you with a detailed assessment. We find that many homeowners are under the false impression that they received no damage and are not entitled to a claim.
Q..Payment Methods / Financing?
A..Capital Contracting accepts payment via check, Visa, MasterCard and discover. We also have a special arrangement with Wells Fargo to help you finance your home improvement.
Q..What is an ice dam?
A..Ice dams occur when snow melts because of heat loss into attic from home and water runs down the roof to the overhang and it cools and freezes. If the snow continues this melting and freezing process, it can seep under the shingles, through the decking and into the house. This, of course, can cause serious roof leaks--even in freezing temperatures. The best prevention to ice dams is a well-ventilated (cool) roof. Additional protection for your roof can be applied with an impermeable ice and water membrane. The membrane is installed on top of the decking, under the roofing material.
